Mehreen Rizvi Khursheed
 is an art advisor to several collectors and a consultant to Frieze Art Fair in London and New York. She is also a trustee of the Lahore Biennale Foundation UK, member of the Steering Committee of the Aga Khan Museum patrons in London, and founding member of the South Asian Acquisition Committee of the Aga Khan Museum patrons in London.

Dr. Haider has won numerous research and development grants, while lecturing across North America, Europe, and Asia; additionally, he has been a design consultant to several architectural practices and a juror to many international architectural competitions.

His work for international organizations, including the UN and the OIC (Organization of Islamic Conference) is highly regarded. With over 55 papers, reports, and articles, his interest in mathematics and architectural structures has led to the publication of unique and innovative research.

Beyond his political career,he is the founder of MNJ Communications (Pvt.), known for producing distinctive and unique advertising content. He wrote and produced the Pakistani film ‘Ramchand Pakistani’ and ‘Beyond the Last Mountain’ (1976) which was critically acclaimed at international film festivals; the film was celebrated due to its realistic and gender-sensitive portrayal of women.

Through his vast experience, he has mentored successful marketing and advertising practitioners; additionally, he was also the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the AdAsia 2019, promoting more impactful and thoughtful advertising in the country.

The founding member of the South Asian Acquisition Committee (SAAC) at Tate Modern, UK. Mehreen has played a pivotal role in developing the Pakistani art market.

Salima Hashmi
Salima Hashmi is an academic, artist, activist, curator, and contemporary art historian. She is the founding Dean of the Mariam Dawood School of Visual Art and Design at Beaconhouse National University; a Professor of Fine Art at National College of Arts for thirty years, and served as the Principal of the College for four years.

Suha Ozkan
Suha Ozkan is an architect, architectural theorist, and the author of a number of books on contemporary architecture; he is also the former Secretary-General of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture and Founding President of World Architecture Community.

As an extension of her role as a curator and academic, Hashmi has established an art gallery of her own, known for featuring experimental works of young artists, it supports the evolving voice of Pakistani art; often it is the challenging and the avant-garde that will find its way into her gallery.

Additionally, she curated the critically acclaimed exhibition ‘This Night-Bitten Dawn’, hosted by the Gujral Foundation and the Devi Art Foundation in Delhi, which opened at the Delhi Art Fair, 2016.

As an artist and activist, Hashmi’s work focuses on the suffering of women in Pakistan’s highly patriarchal society, a journey that began under the rule of Zia-ul-Haq.

Described as of one of Pakistan’s marketing thought leaders, Sarmad was awarded the coveted Marketing Excellence Award 1999 and was ranked amongst Pakistan’s Top 100 Business Leaders. Naazish Ataullah
is a prominent artist, social activist and art historian based in Lahore. Known for her paintings and prints, Ataullah has earned considerable prestige in art circles as one of the most important female artists in the country.

During his tenure, multiple Heritage Roundtables were held by ARCASIA and V4AF (Visegrad 4, Architectural Foundaiton) both locally and internationally.

Prior to this, he served as the President of Institute of Architects, Pakistan (IAP) and as ARCASIA Vice-President Zone A in 2015-2016 concurrently.

He received his professional degrees in Architecture, and later a professional Master’s degree in City & Regional Planning at the Illinois Institute of Technology at Chicago

She was a Professor of Practice in the Department of Communication and Design, as well as Director of the Center for Media and Design, at Habib University, Karachi. Zaidi has researched, edited, and designed the book ‘Mazaar, Bazaar: Design and Visual Culture in Pakistan’ published by Oxford University Press, Karachi, in collaboration with the Prince Claus Fund Library, Amsterdam.

She received her undergraduate degree from the National College of Arts, Lahore, and her Master’s from the Pratt Institute, New York.

She has served as the principal of the National College of Arts, Lahore and as a professor at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore.

Ataullah studied print-making at the Slade School of Fine Arts, London, and, upon her return to Lahore, was instrumental in introducing techniques such as lithography and etching at the Cowasjee Print Studio at NCA. During her student years, Ataullah was a member of the Women Action Forum in the 1980s, which she connects to her current work as she tackles the growing burdens and limitations to the liberty of women.

Through her artwork, the artist openly rejects limitations on women as she illustrates the headscarf in a manner defying those restrictions.

A thirty-four year veteran of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, Khalid Mahmood worked in influential positions in the US, South America, Far East, and Asia Pacific for fourteen years before returning to Pakistan in 1994.

He was part of the Advisory Committee for the Federal Tax Ombudsman, Tax/Revenue advisory council of the Ministry of Finance, and the Chairman of the Taxation Committee of the Pakistan Stock Exchange. Memon has also served on the international bodies of Asia-Oceania Tax Consultants’ Association as the Vice President, the JCI Asia Pacific Development Council as a Development Officer, and the Junior Chamber International Asia Pacific Senate as its Director.

Currently he stands a Patron of the Pakistan Tax Bar Association – previously serving as its President – Director of State Life Insurance Corporation, Director of the Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan, and as a Member of the Federal Board of Revenue’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. Additionally, he serves on the Advisory Taxation Committees of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He was named ‘Outstanding Member of the World,’ at the 52nd Junior Chamber International World Congress in 1997, and was nominated as the ‘Inspiring Jaycees of the World’ in 2006. Memon is a Fellow of the Institute of Taxation and Management of Pakistan (FITM) and a Certified Director under the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan ‘Code of Corporate Governance,’ from ICMA-Pakistan.

She has served as the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan from 2006 to 2009, and was the first female Central Bank Governor for Asia 2007.

Dr. Akhtar also served as the Under Secretary General of the Economic and Social Commission of the Asia and Pacific (UNESCAP), leading work on the 2030

Sustainable Development Agenda regarding climate change. Additionally she was the Senior Special Advisor on Economics and Finance and Assistant Secretary General UN and the UN Secretary General’s G20 Sherpa. More recently, she served as the interim Minister of Finance during the General Elections of 2018.

In addition to advising on macroeconomics issues, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar has advised various governments and the private sector in specific areas of governance, poverty, privatization, and public-private partnerships in sectors such as energy and agriculture. She has also advised a number of countries on financial sector policy, legal, and regulatory frameworks and assessed central banks.

Dr. Akhtar has been previously nominated as Asia’s Best Central Bank Governor by the Emerging Market Groups in 2006 and Bankers Trust in 2007, and was named amongst the top ten of Asia’s Women Leaders in 2008 by the Asian Wall Street Journal. Towfiq Habib Chinoy is a philanthropist and business mogul with years of experience and significant executive leadership accomplishments. His illustrious career has applied qualities of integrity.

She has been instrumental in evolving the Transdisciplinary master’s program commencing in January 2020.

She is actively involved in craft revival, developing trainings and design intervention programs for non-profit organizations throughout the rural landscape of the country.

Through her textile and interior design consultancies, in conjunction with Aga Khan Trust for Culture, the interiors for the Shigar Fort Residence and the Khaplu Palace.

Residence in Baltistan have been conserved and restored. The Shigar Fort Residence was awarded the UNESCO Award for Excellence in Conservation and Restoration in 2009 and the Khaplu Palace Residence was awarded the UNESCO Heritage Distinction Award in 2012. In July 2012, Ismail was commissioned by Alchemy, Bradford Museums and Galleries for an exhibition entitled ‘Silk:

Through his presidential and chairmanship tenures at the IAP and the PCATP, he contributed greatly to the development of the architectural profession.

He oversaw several ‘Country Reports for Habitat’ for the Government of Pakistan, and was the Country Expert for UNESCAP authoring the ‘Country Monograph’, which he subsequently presented at the Regional Seminar in Bangkok. During his time as the CEO of Pakistan Environmental Planning and Architectural Consultants (PEPAC), he played a pivotal role in negotiations with international organizations such as the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank, representing the interests of the Government of Pakistan.

This was key to the development of strategic policy and its implementation for the development sector. Supervising several town planning and urban development studies, particularly in the housing sector for the Government of Pakistan, Irfan held a pivotal role in the structuring and programming of the Pakistan Housing Authority where he held the Director General post for five years.

Of his numerous publications, the most notable is ‘The Walled City of Lahore,’ which was co-directed in 1991, this key conservation and documentation project was shortlisted for the Aga Khan Award. Currently Irfan is a consultant at an establishment handling large-scale projects funded by the UAE Government in the hospitality, health, education, and social welfare sectors.

Feryal Ali Gauhar
Did Political Economy at McGill University, Montreal, studied Media Education at the University of London, trained as a television broadcaster in the Netherlands and at the University of Southern California, and served as a fellow of the Gates Institute at the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University.

Currently, he is Post-Doc University Assistant in the Department of Architectural Theory and History at the University of Innsbruck. He has also held the position of adjunct professor Politecnico di Torino, Università di Ferrara and ETSA Madrid, and has been invited as a guest lecturer at many international universities.

Davide brings a rich curatorial experience. In 2016, he curated “Unfolding Pavilion: Curated Archives” exhibition, with Daniel Tudor Munteanu.

He was the scientific consultant for the “Meeting the Commons” section of the Italian Pavilion at the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale. In 2017, he curated the Festival “Architettura in Città” of Torino with Nina Bassoli and in 2018, the “Unfolding Pavilion: Little Italy” exhibition and symposium is curated with Daniel Tudor Munteanu and Sara Favargiotti.

He is the editor of several publications and his work is published in accredited international journals and magazines. In 2018 he published his first monographic book: The City in the Image.

She served as the United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for the Population Fund from 1999 till 2004.Ms. Ali Gauhar has taught Film history, theory and technology at the National College of Arts. She lectures at apex institutions (National Defence University,

Administrative Staff College, Civil Services Academy, National Institute of Management) around the country on women and economic development, reproductive health and rights, gender-based violence, the environment-poverty nexus, and cultural heritage management.

Feryal has worked with the World Monuments Fund, New York, as coordinator for the Chilas Cultural Landscape Documentation project for the area in Gilgit Baltistan where the Diamer Basha Dam is being built by the Government of Pakistan. She has served as Project Consultant for the Pak-German Archaeological Mission and for the Italian Archaeological Mission in Pakistan. Feryal has led the team which wrote the cultural heritage management plan for Diamer Basha Dam, Chilas, Gilgit Baltistan, and for the Dasu Hydropower Project in Indus Kohistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Feryal and has just completed her third novel, “An Abundance of Wild Roses”. She is currently working on a screenplay for a feature film. Feryal lives in Lahore with an abundance of almost wild animals and a few, equally interesting humans.

Sharmini Pereira
is an independent international curator. She is the founder and director of the not-for-profit publishing organization Raking Leaves and the Sri Lanka Archive of Contemporary Art, Architecture and Design.

His upcoming show is at Canvas Gallery in Karachi. His poems have been published in various literary journals in Pakistan and abroad. Moeen Faruqi has earned a strong reputation as a painter of alienation in the modern world.

His work conveys the angst of existence in an urban setting. Reflecting a global culture, our cities have become increasingly similar and even interchangeable. This globalization and uniformity also leads to greater estrangement and a sense of unbelonging.

She has played a key role in the initiation of the field of Art and Design Education as an area of graduate research in Pakistan at BNU and PIFD, Lahore.

Sadik received her doctorate in Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, New York, her MA from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, University of the Arts (UAL) London and her undergraduate at NCA, Lahore. Sadik is an Associate Professor of Education at Syed Ahsan Ali & Syed Maratib Ali School of Education, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).

In 2017, she was appointed Chief Curator, Lionel Wendt Memorial Fund Collection, Colombo.

She was a judge for the 2017 Geoffrey Bawa Award for Architecture.
Pereira received a Master of Arts in Art History from Edinburgh University (1992). Born in 1970, she currently lives and works in Sri Lanka and New York.

Umar Hameed
is a designer and educationist with Masters in Design Innovation and Media Studies. Along with his teaching and industrial experience he has engaged in numerous community engagement and empowerment projects emphasizing the role of Design as a specialized discipline where the overarching theme has been to address the importance of unlearning in order to learn as a two-way effort to shape knowledge and foster a critical understanding of our cultural milieu.

Wendy Djuhara
is a renowned female architect hailing from Indonesia. She graduated from Parahyangan Catholic University in 1994 and worked in PT Paramita Abirama Istasadhya for several years before establishing her architecture firm djuhara+djuhara along with her husband Ahmad Djuhara in 2004.

Some of his projects include IN Design Curricula where he conducted workshops and produced artworks with school children as part of Totally Thames Festival 2013, 2014 in their annual exhibition titled ‘Rivers of The World’. He is a

Researcher and Art Director for The History Project ‘s publication ‘Partitioned Histories: The Other Side of Your Story’ in 2016. He was also the Team Leader in BNU, Lahore Biennale Foundation, Danish Cultural Organization CKU’s collaborative project ‘Stories We Tell’ for working with the Mirasi community of Lahore.

Umar has participated in Fabrica’s Imago Mundi 2017 and has been a co-principal Investigator for HEC’s Thematic Research Grant 2017, ‘Furthering the Foundation Model in Art and Design Higher Education in Pakistan’. He was also the main organizer, researcher and conductor of ‘Design Thinking’ workshop for Summer School in Social Innovation Academy, Uganda, 2017. Umar is currently the Head of Department of Foundation Year Studies in Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design, Lahore.

They won several IAI Jakarta (Indonesian Architects Institute) Awards such as Shining Stars Kindergarten and Tanah Teduh House, both located in Jakarta. She is invested in eco-friendly and abstract architecture and is currently a member of Architecture Hijau and Arsitek Muda Indonesia (Young Indonesian Architects).
